Spark Base: A New Frontier for Entrepreneurship
On May 26, 2025, the much-anticipated
Spark Base will officially open its doors in Monda City, Hyogo Prefecture. This new incubation facility is part of the
Co-Creation Village, a collaborative complex established through a partnership between Kwansei Gakuin University, Hyogo Prefecture, and Monda City. Managed by
ATOMica, a pioneering social coworking startup based in Miyazaki, Spark Base is set to become an incubator for innovation and local entrepreneurship.
A Hub for Entrepreneurs
Spark Base is designed to support budding entrepreneurs, harness university research, and tackle local community challenges. By engaging with students, faculty, and locals, the facility aims to identify pressing issues and leverage academic insights alongside regional networks to devise effective solutions. ATOMica will provide comprehensive support throughout the entire process, from early-stage planning to business realization, by incorporating diverse ideas from various backgrounds, thus fostering a cycle of innovation within the community.
The ATOMica community managers, who have previously connected people across approximately 50 facilities nationwide, will be present at Spark Base. They will visualize community needs and aspirations while facilitating connections between universities and businesses, creating a vibrant environment that encourages collaboration. Through daily communications and events, the facility will strengthen ties among students, local residents, and businesses, positioning itself as a co-creation hub that helps solve social issues and generates new value.
Goals of Spark Base
The primary goal of Spark Base is to accumulate input regarding societal challenges and inquiries from businesses, allowing academics and entrepreneurs to collaborate on joint research. This cooperation will pave the way for practical applications of new technologies, promoting a unified regional effort to address community issues. Spark Base is equipped to support the entire entrepreneurial journey, from idea generation to social deployment, thereby nurturing student entrepreneurs and local business initiatives.
Creating a lively and engaging environment where students, community members, and businesses can naturally converge is essential for achieving these objectives. With ATOMica's extensive experience in community building through its national network, the organization will spearhead the operational management of Spark Base. The community manager will play a vital role in facilitating a space where aspirations and local challenges can thrive, enhancing Spark Base's function as a co-creation hub.
