Art and Daily Life Unite at the Kobe Antiques Market
In a magnificent coastal setting, the
Kobe Antiques Market, part of
KOBE COFFEE WEEKEND, welcomed approximately
13,000 attendees over two days on February 28 and March 1, 2026. Organized by
Todoroki Co., Ltd., under the leadership of CEO
Masaya Inoue, the event took place at
TOTTEI PARK, overlooking the picturesque Kobe port. The success of this second edition has already led to plans for a third edition set for
April 5, 2026.
What is the Kobe Antiques Market?
The Kobe Antiques Market is a unique event, initiated by the
Kobe Arts Promotion Association, that celebrates the meeting of art and flea market culture. The market showcases a range of items including accessories, home décor, Scandinavian dinnerware, and vintage clothing, creating a vibrant tableau that reflects Kobe's rich history of intercultural exchange. Visitors have the chance to connect with heirlooms rich in stories and histories.
Highlights from the Second Edition
- - Visitor Count: Approx. 13,000 total over two days
- - Stall Count: 36 flea market stalls and around 6 coffee stalls
- - Survey Results: A whopping 92% of attendees were residents of Hyogo Prefecture, expressing delight over the emergence of a unique Kobe flea market and hoping for its future continuity.
Among sellers, numerous voices echoed the great synergy between Kobe and the flea market concept, eagerly anticipating future developments. Roughly
80% of attendees made purchases, all while enjoying Kobe's scenic views and cooling sea breezes.
A Blend of Art and Everyday Life
As doors to
TOTTEI PARK opened, fans of flea markets and families filled the venue, eagerly exploring quality items from various shops. The market's popular booths, offering artisanal sweets and chocolates, even sold out early due to high demand.
The event also featured live painting as a pre-event for the
KOBE ART MARCHÉ 2026. Artist
Mayu Kunisaki, known for being selected in the
Artist meets Art Fair public exhibition in 2017, showcased her skills. Attendees were treated to an intimate view of her creative process as she assembled a wooden frame and began painting right before their eyes, making for a rich artistic experience shared by numerous admirers.
Upcoming Third Edition at Kobe Motomachi 4-Chome Shopping Street

Kobe Motomachi 4-Chome Shopping Street, a key tourist location featuring retro-modern charms unique to Kobe. The third event will see an expansion, featuring approximately
34 stalls that include popular antique shops, second-hand bookstores, diverse craft shops for handmade items, alongside stalls selling chocolates, baked goods, and other delicious foods.
