The Grand Opening of Yayoiken Kurume Aikawa Store
Yayoiken is all set to unveil its newly designed Kurume Aikawa store on June 9th, at 10 AM in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. This restaurant marks the beginning of a new chapter for Yayoiken, which currently operates 361 locations across Japan. The revamped store not only demonstrates a fresh brand identity but also aims to enhance the dining experience for its customers.
This location showcases Yayoiken’s latest logo, symbol, and a modern interpretation of traditional Japanese aesthetics. As part of this redesign, a sophisticated signage featuring new logo marks, stylish noren (traditional Japanese fabric dividers) harking back to its roots as "Yayoi-ken," and wallpaper inspired by historical documents have been carefully integrated to reflect a “high-quality” image. Customers can look forward to a more leisurely dining occasion, aided by newly installed tablets at each table for placing orders, a special selection of exclusive dessert items, and the convenience of a self-service drink bar.
Of course, guests will still have access to the beloved ‘Okarai-dokoro,’ where they can enjoy unlimited rice, dashi, and pickles, continuing Yayoiken’s commitment to providing a fulfilling dining experience.

A Fresh New Logo and Branding Elements
The newly designed logo combines a modern Mincho font without curves to achieve a sleek style, harmonizing Japanese characters, Latin letters, and the symbol logo effectively. This dual-language approach ensures that “Yayoiken” is recognized easily both in Japan and internationally. The symbol design draws inspiration from the letters of "YAYOI" to form a noren shape, with a stylized hiragana for “yayoi” appearing in the corner to emphasize its heritage.
The color palette encapsulates themes of ambition, warmth, and vibrant communication. The rich "Yayoired" reflects the pouring sun—a symbol of the future and passion—while "Yayoikawaka" embodies the flourishing vigor of spring. Together, they create a modern take on traditional Japanese aesthetics.
