Zoomlion Unveils Groundbreaking Robotics Innovations at World Robot Conference 2025
From August 8 to 12, 2025, the World Robot Conference (WRC) in Beijing served as the stage for Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. to present its pioneering advancements in industrial and humanoid robotics. The company, known for its extensive experience in the robotics sector, highlighted new applications and technological breakthroughs, as well as a visionary plan for the future of smart manufacturing.
Zeng Guang, the General Manager of ZValley Technology Co. Ltd., part of Zoomlion, remarked, "Industrial and humanoid robots are not replacements but essential allies in a new manufacturing paradigm. Our aim is to enable robots to adapt to their surroundings, propelling manufacturing toward enhanced quality, efficiency, and intelligence."
Zoomlion's journey into robotics began almost two decades ago, specifically in 2006, with the introduction of programmable industrial robots designed for mass production of a single product. In 2019, the company took a significant leap by implementing adaptive robots equipped with vision capabilities and force detection, supported by industrial internet architecture to facilitate agile, multimodal production.
A notable example of this capability can be found in the Zoomlion Smart Industrial City in Changsha, where over 2,000 adaptive robots operate across 300 smart production lines. These lines manufacture a diverse range of products, including cranes, excavators, aerial work platforms, and concrete machinery. This facility is designed to switch production models within minutes, enabling high-variety, low-volume manufacturing at scale.
In 2024, Zoomlion initiated exploration into the use of humanoid robots aimed at addressing automation needs that extend beyond traditional industrial robots. The company has developed three models, including a two-wheeled robot and a bipedal humanoid, with numerous units currently piloting operations in areas like machining, logistics, assembly, and quality inspection. These humanoid robots are equipped with advanced features such as full-scene multimodal perception, intention recognition, integrated vision, force detection, tactile sensitivity for precise gripping, and collaborative motion planning with two arms, all ensuring safety during operation.
To enhance the implementation of these robots, Zoomlion established a training center featuring over 100 workstations and introduced a native AI cloud platform for large-scale data acquisition and model training. This infrastructure is integral to Zoomlion’s intelligent manufacturing ecosystem. Their industrial internet platform connects over 1.7 million devices globally, covering 18 categories and more than 600 models, while aggregating over 30,000 data parameters to create industrial assets at the petabyte scale.
With these advancements, Zoomlion is committed to fostering the continuous evolution of both industrial and humanoid robotics. The company envisions creating a new production model through the co-evolution of hardware and software; a framework where clusters of industrial and humanoid robots collaborate, leading to the development of intelligent factories capable of self-perception, adaptation, and decision-making.
In conclusion, Zoomlion's forward-thinking approach and technological prowess showcased at the World Robot Conference 2025 not only signify its leadership in robotics innovation but also pave the way for a smarter and more efficient manufacturing landscape in the near future.
