ICANN's 87th Public Meeting in Bali

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is set to host its 87th public meeting in Bali, Indonesia, from October 17 to 22, 2026. This significant gathering will mark the first time ICANN convenes in Indonesia, bringing together stakeholders from around the globe to engage in discussions essential for the future of Internet governance.

This flagship event will take place at the Bali International Convention Center, showcasing Bali's reputation as a premier destination for international conferences. Kurtis Lindqvist, CEO of ICANN, expressed enthusiasm about the impending event, stating, "We are looking forward to reuniting with our global community in Bali for our annual general meeting. The conference will discuss pivotal topics related to the management of unique Internet identifiers, addressing recent developments such as the closure of submissions for the 2026 series of generic top-level domains (gTLDs) on August 12, when over 1,600 main applications were received. The unveiling day at ICANN87 will provide stakeholders with the chance to learn about the submitted strings and the relevant sections of the application files, facilitating discussions on the subsequent steps of the program.
