FLN and Japan Post: Advancing Takaoka City's Appeal
In an ambitious initiative to combat declining population trends, Futre Link Network (FLN), headquartered in Funabashi City, Chiba, has joined forces with Japan Post Holdings and JP Digital to promote the attractions of Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture. Through their partnership, they aim to not only draw visitors but also enhance residential ties from outside the region.
The POSTUDIO Project
FLN will utilize the POSTUDIO project, capitalizing on the vast local network of post offices, to conduct online seminars and real-life interactions designed to showcase the charm of Takaoka City. This unique approach facilitates engagement between local residents and potential newcomers, thus fostering a more connected community.
Japan Post Group is adopting a performance-based contract model (PFS: Pay For Success) for this endeavor, allowing Takaoka City to compensate based on the actual visitation outcomes. This strategy amplifies their promotional efforts aimed at increasing the local population and strengthening ties with urban residents.
Creating Meaningful Connections
The initiative is set to commence on July 15, 2026, and run until December 15 of the same year. The POSTUDIO base of operations will be located in Newoman Takanawa, Tokyo. This period of operation will focus on organizing engaging online seminars and real-world meetups, especially targeting individuals residing in metropolitan areas.
By creating pathways for urban visitors to connect with Takaoka City, the project aims to promote visitation and eventually encourage relocations to the city. This initiative not only establishes meaningful routes for potential residents but also enhances FLN's portfolio of activities as it combines their expertise in population engagement with the unique distribution channel of Japan Post.
Expected Impact
For Takaoka City, the main goal is to build rapport with residents of Tokyo and nearby regions, facilitating increased visits and potential relocation opportunities. Meanwhile, FLN will accumulate valuable insights and data from this partnership, enabling them to support other municipalities' population-building strategies with their local postal network and promotional expertise.
Future Outlook
FLN plans to continue collaborating with JP Digital and local governments to expand their focus on community attraction and relationship-building initiatives. Details regarding the seminars and events will be announced in due course.
