Zūm Hosts Hiring Fair for Shawnee Mission School District

Zūm, a notable player in student transportation, has been awarded a comprehensive seven-year contract with the Shawnee Mission School District (SMSD), starting from the 2026-27 school year. In preparation for this partnership, Zūm is excited to announce a three-day hiring fair aimed at recruiting qualified school bus drivers and attendants.

The event will take place over three consecutive days, specifically on February 24, 25, and 26, 2026, at the Courtyard by Marriott Kansas City Shawnee, located at 17250 Midland Dr, Shawnee, KS. The fair runs daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT.

During the recruitment drive, Zūm aims to fill a total of 283 positions: this includes 168 school bus drivers, 99 attendants, and 16 van drivers. The company is reaching out to both certified drivers and attendants already in the field, as well as newcomers considering a fulfilling career in school transportation. Prospective employees who are not yet certified are invited to attend, as Zūm will provide training and certification at no cost.
