Claros Technologies Welcomes Jack Cogen to the Board of Directors
In a significant corporate development,
Claros Technologies, a global leader in the field of PFAS destruction and analysis solutions, has announced the addition of
Jack Cogen to its Board of Directors. This strategic appointment is set to drive the company's ambitions as it transitions from a technological validation phase to large-scale commercialization.
Jack Cogen brings over thirty years of leadership experience across several sectors, including environmental services, finance, energy, and technology. He is well-known as the founder and former CEO of Natsource Asset Management, a leading consultancy specializing in environmental and energy markets. His impactful tenure in the industry also includes his role as president of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) from 2008 to 2011, where he continues to contribute as an honorary member.
Under Cogen's leadership, Natsource Asset Management became one of the foremost firms in the environmental asset management sector, focusing on innovative solutions in carbon markets and energy efficiency. Since 2017, he has served on the board of CoreWeave, a rapidly growing company at the forefront of AI-based cloud infrastructure, gaining critical insights that will prove beneficial as Claros embarks on its next phase of expansion.
Michelle Bellanca, the CEO and co-founder of Claros Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about Cogen's addition to the board, stating, "Jack brings exactly the type of experience we were seeking. Throughout his career, he has repeatedly helped build and scale businesses, navigated complex growth environments, developed innovative financing models, and created significant enterprise value. His vision and expertise will be invaluable as we advance our business goals." This appointment comes at an opportune time, as Claros seeks to enhance its PFAS destruction technologies, including its unique
ClarosTechUV™ system and its PFAS detection solution,
ClarosLabs™.
Claros Technologies has distinguished itself as a frontrunner in PFAS technology and is dedicated to mitigating the environmental impact of these notorious substances. The company offers scalable, cost-effective solutions aimed at permanently destroying PFAS compounds without creating dangerous by-products. ClarosLabs is an accredited ISO/IEC 17025 commercial laboratory providing vital analytics services tailored for industrial, municipal, and environmental clients.
"Throughout my career, I've been drawn to companies tackling significant environmental challenges with commercially viable technologies," said Jack Cogen. "Claros has developed a compelling solution to one of the most urgent global issues and has already demonstrated its capability for commercial-scale operations. Combined with innovative technology and strong leadership, as well as a growing market demand, this presents a remarkable opportunity, and I look forward to contributing to the company's growth journey."
Cogen's arrival is particularly significant as regulatory scrutiny surrounding PFAS—often referred to as 'forever chemicals'—intensifies, heightening the demand for proven destruction technologies globally. Jim Leslie, Chairperson of the Board at Claros Technologies, added, "Jack is a respected entrepreneur, investor, and board member whose experience encompasses some of the most pressing trends shaping our economy today—from environmental markets and energy transition to AI and digital infrastructures. We are thrilled to welcome him to Claros. His ability to identify transformative technologies, strategic vision, extensive network, and decades of experience nurturing innovative companies will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build a company well-positioned to tackle one of the planet's most critical environmental challenges."
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Claros Technologies is at the forefront of PFAS mitigation efforts, featuring two primary divisions. The
