A Celebration of American Cuisine
In a groundbreaking collaboration, Chef's Table, the esteemed brand behind the award-winning Netflix series, has joined forces with America250, the national organization tasked by Congress to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Together, they announce an exceptional initiative designed to explore and celebrate the rich tapestry of American cuisine.
The centerpiece of this collaboration is the
America250 Cookbook, which acts as a culinary time capsule reflecting the diversity and evolution of the nation’s food culture. This cookbook is curated in partnership with culinary expert
Jamila Robinson, the editor-in-chief of Bon Appétit. Inside, readers will find a captivating collection of
250 dishes, each representing significant aspects of American cuisine—a narrative woven through iconic ingredients, influential culinary traditions, and a shared passion for flavor.
More Than Just a Cookbook
Not just a static collection of recipes, the America250 Cookbook integrates a dynamic digital experience, offering cooking tutorials, healthy eating tips, and exclusive content tailored to enhance the culinary journey. Justin Connor, President of Chef's Table Projects, remarked:
"The story of American cuisine is about exchange—cultures, ingredients, and ideas coming together in new ways." He emphasized the aim of this project is to uplift the spirit of local communities and chefs who shape what American food represents today.
The Americana Dinner Series
Complementing the cookbook is the
Americana Dinner Series, a series of exclusive dining experiences set against the backdrop of the breathtaking landscapes of America’s national parks. This series includes nine one-night-only events, each hosting up to
250 guests. Renowned chefs will craft unique menus inspired by local ingredients, terrains, and food stories. The series will culminate in a grand finale dinner in Washington, D.C., highlighting the interconnections between food, community, and conservation.
Jen Condon, Executive Vice President at America250, expressed the significance of this celebration:
“America's Semiquincentennial is a moment to recognize the many threads that make up our national identity.” Food, she notes, is one of the most immediate ways to experience this identity—grounded in place and culture, and shared across generations.
The Americana Dinner Series is set to take place from August through November, with the America250 Cookbook scheduled for release in September. Both initiatives aim to engage Americans broadly and to encourage them to reconnect with their nation’s culinary heritage. For more information about these exciting programs, you can visit
