Monthly Report on Construction Order Trends



On July 10, 2023, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism released the Construction Orders Dynamics Statistical Survey Report for May 2023. This essential survey aims to analyze the trends in construction orders received by domestic construction firms, providing foundational data for construction administration and policy-making.

Objective of the Survey


The primary goal of this statistical survey is to grasp detailed information regarding the monthly order amounts from both public institutions and private entities. The data is categorized based on the clients, types of construction, and geographical areas. This structured approach allows for a clear understanding of the current market landscape in Japan's construction industry.

Methodology


This ongoing survey targets around 12,000 companies selected from approximately 480,000 licensed construction firms operating nationwide. The process takes place on a monthly basis, and this report collates results specifically for May 2023. We express our gratitude to all participating companies for their cooperation in this important endeavor.

New Estimation Method Implemented


Since April 2021, the report has transitioned to a new estimation method designed to provide more accurate insights into the construction order dynamics. More detailed information regarding these methodology changes is available on the official website.
