Overview


The Japan Management Association (JMA), based in Shibuya, Tokyo, is delighted to announce an upcoming seminar titled "Creating Internal Audit Plans Using a Risk-Based Approach", scheduled for November 25, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This event will take place in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join either on-site in Tokyo or online via Zoom.

Internal audit quality is determined at the planning stage. With limited human resources and time, identifying risks accurately and establishing effective audit plans is a common challenge faced by many organizations. This seminar will be led by Yuji Shimada, a former audit manager at Tokyo Gas, who will share practical insights and examples. Attendees will gain knowledge that enhances the value of their audit departments by considering the latest trends, including the use of Generative AI and Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAAT).

Instructor Profile


Yuji Shimada is a visiting researcher at the Toyo University Industrial Technology Research Institute and a certified Internal Auditor and Information Systems Auditor. He served as a manager in the Information Systems Audit Group at Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. and has extensive experience in IT, auditing, and finance departments. Shimada is a published author of several books, including "Introduction to Internal Auditing" and has been involved in higher education for many years.
