Notably, under her guidance, SMU experienced a remarkable 56% increase in student applications.

She further honed her expertise by obtaining her master's and doctoral degrees in biomechanical engineering and mechanical engineering, respectively, from Stanford University. Her rich academic background is matched by her professional journey, which includes esteemed faculty positions at institutions such as the University of Missouri, the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and North Carolina State University.

Loboa is set to begin her role at DU in August, succeeding Mary Clark, who will transition back to full-time teaching responsibilities at the university.
