A Colorful Collaboration at Tokyo Fashion Week

Shu Uemura, the renowned Japanese makeup artist brand, took charge of the backstage makeup for Tsumori Chisato's enchanting show at the Tokyo Fashion Week held on September 4, 2025. The show celebrated Tsumori Chisato's 35th anniversary, showcasing their Spring/Summer 2026 collection with a delightful pastel palette.

The backstage team included Shu Uemura's International Artistic Director, uchiide, along with atelier artists yang and omori, who applied their expertise to infuse vibrant colors into Tsumori Chisato's joyful collection. The runway, adorned with large daisies, presented a jubilant atmosphere complemented by lively graphics and motifs of flowers, fish, and rainbows, embodying Tsumori Chisato's signature happy mood.

This marks a significant moment for Tsumori Chisato as it was their first show format presentation since their Autumn/Winter 2018-19 collection in Paris. The magical interplay of fashion, art, and makeup articulated by the Shu Uemura team brought out the best of both worlds — high fashion and captivating artistry.

Uchiide commented on the retro-sci-fi inspired makeup look, saying, "This retro Sci-Fi inspired makeup uses pastel colors to pay homage to the beauty of our planet as depicted throughout the collection. Congratulations, Tsumori Chisato, on your 35th anniversary!"
