Allinial Global Appoints Tony Sacre as New CEO to Lead Future Growth

Allinial Global Welcomes Tony Sacre as New CEO

On March 7, 2025, Allinial Global proudly announced the appointment of Tony Sacre as its new Chief Executive Officer, following an extensive global search that attracted top-tier talents worldwide. Allinial Global, recognized as the second-largest accounting association globally, aims to enhance its leadership and drive growth in the accounting sector.

Tony Sacre takes over from Mark Koziel, who diligently led Allinial Global before transitioning to the role of CEO at AICPA CIMA. Under Koziel's stewardship, the organization expanded significantly, making it imperative for the next leader to continue this momentum.

Sacre is not a stranger to the finance world; he brings over 25 years of leadership experience acquired at prominent global financial institutions, including ANZ Banking Group, Commonwealth Bank, HSBC, JP Morgan, and National Australia Bank. His extensive background spans key leadership roles across the Asia-Pacific region, where he has focused on finance markets, trade finance, and strategic advisory services.

Since 2018, Tony has served as CEO of Bentleys Australia and New Zealand, a notable mid-sized accounting firm within its market and a long-standing, valued member of Allinial Global. His involvement on the Global Executive Board and the APAC Regional Board further equips him with an intricate understanding of the mission and evolving needs of independent firms globally.

Not only is he the first CEO from the APAC region in Allinial Global's history, but Sacre's appointment also underscores the association's commitment to fostering global leadership. His focus will likely strengthen Allinial Global's presence in the U.S. market while expanding its influence in key international markets.

"It is an honor to take on this role and build on the immense success of Allinial Global," commented Sacre. "The need for visionary leadership and cross-border collaboration has never been more crucial. I look forward to working alongside our exceptional member firms to drive innovations, enhance global service capacities, and position Allinial Global as the leading association for independent accounting and consulting firms worldwide."

Jim Wallace, CEO of BPM LLP and Chair of the Global Executive Board, expressed confidence in Sacre’s leadership abilities. "Tony's extensive global experience, strategic mindset, and deep connection with the Allinial Global community make him the ideal leader to guide our association into the future. His understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by Allinial Global member firms aligns perfectly with our mission to support businesses in achieving sustainable success."

As Allinial Global embarks on this new chapter, the Global Board extends its heartfelt gratitude to Steve Varley for his service as interim CEO, ensuring a seamless transition during the leadership search. Moving forward, Allinial Global is poised to continue delivering top-tier services, promoting global business opportunities, and ensuring that its members stay at the forefront of a constantly evolving profession.
