EVH Introduces the 5150III Hypersonic 6L6 1x12 Digital Amp
Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC), headquartered in California, has recently unveiled the new digital amplifier from their renowned EVH® brand—the
5150III Hypersonic 6L6 1x12. This exciting product is set to be available for order on December 4, 2025, with deliveries expected in Autumn 2026.
Authentic EVH Sound for Any Setting
The
5150III Hypersonic 6L6 1x12 is designed to replicate the iconic sound of the legendary EVH 5150III tube amplifier. Thanks to its advanced digital processing capabilities, this powerful combo amp delivers remarkable tube-like power, clarity, and dynamic response, all while maintaining a lightweight and portable design. Featuring premium Celestion® speakers and a sturdy plywood closed-back cabinet, it promises the unique tone and volume associated with EVH.
In today's music scene, where home studios are becoming prevalent and the demand for live performances rises, guitarists require versatility in their amps. They're looking for the ability to cover a wide range of sounds from clean tones to high gain while also ensuring practicality and mobility. The
5150III Hypersonic 6L6 1x12 addresses common issues with traditional tube amps—such as weight, maintenance, and volume limitations—while delivering authentic EVH tube tones. This amplifier embodies the spirit of experimentation and innovation that Eddie Van Halen represented.
EVH product manager John Romanowski commented, “This model is the next evolution of EVH amplifiers. With groundbreaking digital technology, it delivers Eddie's signature tone. The
Hypersonic 6L6 1x12 makes it easier for players to experience EVH sound. Those who have never encountered the authentic EVH tone can now easily obtain it, whether for home recording or stage performance.”
Enhanced Flexibility and Control
The amplifier is equipped with features designed to provide maximum flexibility, elevating player control to a new level. Channels 1 and 2 include concentric Gain, EQ, and Volume controls, allowing for precise sound crafting. Each channel also comes with an independent noise gate, minimizing unwanted noise for tight and clear performance. Channel 3 features a single knob control and noise gate, making it user-friendly.
Additionally, the updated footswitch allows for switching reverb and effects loops during performances, and the power selector enables users to adjust levels across five settings, ensuring optimal tone at any volume.
For recording and live use, the amp includes a balanced XLR line out with built-in impulse response (IR) cabinet simulation, allowing for studio-quality tone directly into a mixer. A mute switch adds functionality for silent stage monitoring or quiet recording environments. Weighing around 17.7 kg (39 lbs), the amp offers high portability without sacrificing sound quality. It is available in classic black and elegant ivory, fitting any guitarist's style.
In celebration of this release, guitarist Frankie Lindia, based in Los Angeles, shares a video showcasing the powerful sound potential of the
