Extended Viewing of Lockheed Martin's DARKSTAR and NASA's X-38
Due to popular demand, visitors to the Palm Springs Air Museum can now enjoy an extended viewing of two remarkable aircraft: Lockheed Martin's DARKSTAR and NASA's X-38 prototype. Originally slated for a limited engagement, the display will now continue through April 25, 2025.
The Stars of the Show
Lockheed Martin's DARKSTAR, featured in a major motion picture, showcases a futuristic design and advanced technology that captivates aviation and film enthusiasts alike. This innovative aircraft is not just a cinematic marvel but also a testament to cutting-edge aerospace engineering.
In addition, attendees will get the chance to see NASA's X-38, an International Space Station crew return vehicle prototype. Out of the three prototypes that were built, this one now resides at the Palm Springs Air Museum, making it a unique opportunity for the public to get up close and learn about its significance in space exploration.
The X-38's program was discontinued after producing only three prototypes, making the one at the museum a rare piece of aviation history. Visitors can delve into the intricate designs and functionalities of both aircraft and gain a deeper appreciation for their roles in aerospace innovation.
