Work Design Lab Starts Collaboration for Digital Network Development in Higashihiroshima City

Work Design Lab Partners with Higashihiroshima City for Digital Network Initiative

In a significant move towards digital transformation, Work Design Lab has been chosen by Higashihiroshima City for the 2025 Digital Network Formation Promotion Project. With a rich background, the company aims to foster collaboration among local businesses and talent, enhancing the region’s digital landscape.

Background and Overview

Higashihiroshima is home to universities with IT faculties and semiconductor companies, fostering a unique blend of advanced digital talents across various sectors. To effectively revitalize the local economy and tackle community challenges, there is a pressing need for collaboration and knowledge sharing among these talents and enterprises. The initiative aims not only to create a network but also to cultivate locally rooted digital talent and improve the regional environment.

The need for such digital advancements is underscored by the city’s previous efforts, specifically through the TORQUE Project launched in 2021. Over the past three years, this project has focused on solving community issues through a collaborative approach involving residents, external experts, and city officials. With Work Design Lab’s involvement from 2022 to 2024, the upcoming project promises to build upon this foundation.

Plans for 2025

1. Formation of Digital Network (DNW)

A primary objective is to establish a network of private-sector DX professionals to promote local economic growth and address social challenges within the Higashihiroshima area. This initiative will aim to facilitate better communication and partnerships between various stakeholders in the community.

2. Support for Creator Development Activities

Ongoing support will also be directed towards G11, a community development company active near JR Nishikawaya Station, focusing on their efforts to enhance local infrastructure and collaborative projects.
