Discover Tokyo's Welfare Job Experience Program
Tokyo is pleased to announce the launch of its job experience program for the fiscal year 2025, aimed at engaging middle and high school students in the field of welfare. This initiative is designed to spark interest among the next generation while also expanding the pool of skilled workers in the welfare sector. With the growing demand for welfare professionals, it is crucial to nurture interest in this vital field from a young age.
Target Participants
The program is open to middle and high school students residing or studying in Tokyo who have a keen interest in welfare jobs. This includes students from upper secondary schools. To participate, students must meet the following criteria:
- - Be able to commute to the chosen workplace
- - Obtain parental consent
Number of Participants
A total of 300 students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged.
Workplace Experience Locations
Participants will have the opportunity to gain firsthand experience at one of 63 welfare service facilities in Tokyo, specifically in the fields of elderly welfare and welfare for individuals with disabilities (including children). Program Schedule
The job experience will take place from July 22nd (Tuesday) to August 30th (Saturday). Each facility will set specific dates, and participants are allowed one experience session lasting approximately 3-4 hours.
Participation Fee
Participation in the program is free of charge; however, participants must cover their transportation costs to the respective facility.
Application Period
The application window will be open from June 13th (Friday) to July 10th (Thursday). Students interested in participating should select their preferred experience location and fill out the application form found here:
