May 1 marks a special occasion as Nuu, the beloved PR character of Saitama City, celebrates his birthday! This year, to commemorate this day, a unique event will be held in collaboration with the Railway Museum, allowing fans to celebrate and connect with Nuu in a fun-filled environment.

The festivities are set for May 1st, 2024, from 10 AM to 5 PM (JST). Be sure to mark your calendars!

Location

The event will take place at the Railway Museum located at 3-47, Taisyo-cho, Omiya-ku, Saitama City. Please note that an admission fee is required to enter the museum.

Planned Activities

1. Nuu’s Appearance at the Turntable Demonstration

Nuu will make a special appearance during the turntable rotation of the C57 steam locomotive at the museum’s main hall. This exciting demonstration, featuring Nuu, will take place at 12 PM and 3 PM. Don’t miss this chance to see Nuu up close!

2. Meet and Greet with Nuu

Head over to the Saitama City booth on the second floor, located in front of the stunning stained glass. Nuu will visit the booth, bringing joy and smiles. The exact timing is yet to be announced, but be among the first 1,000 attendees to receive an exclusive Nuu sticker!

3. Coloring Corner

Children (and the young at heart) are invited to express their creativity in the coloring corner, also situated on the second floor. Visitors can color images of Nuu and even write heartwarming birthday messages for him!

4. Quiz Rally

Test your knowledge about Saitama in the fun quiz rally at the booth. Participants who answer correctly will have the chance to spin a capsule lottery to win Nuu merchandise!

5. Unique Photo Stand Workshop

One of the highlights is a workshop to create a one-of-a-kind photo stand using Nuu’s “scales” made from upcycled materials, including costumes. This initiative promotes the theme of connection, reflecting Nuu’s charm as a bridge between people. The workshop is not to be missed!
