Welcome to TOTOPA Hakata Station
Mark your calendars! The new urban spa facility,
TOTOPA Hakata Station, is set to open its doors on
August 7, 2026. This marks the second location of the award-winning spa brand
TOTOPA, which has just made waves as the top sauna destination in Japan, recognized by the esteemed SAUNACHELIN awards.
A Cedar Experience
Located in
Meiji Park, a project developed by Tokyo Tatemono, the new spa brings a concept that focuses on a unique interaction with nature:
“A Sauna to Enjoy Trees.” This innovative approach aims to provide an immersive experience that engages all five senses using Western Red Cedar, a rare and precious wood that will be featured in its entirety.
Since opening its first store at
Meiji Park in Shinjuku in
2024, the brand has captured hearts with its design and unique sauna experiences, earning accolades from SAUNACHELIN – the nation’s guide to the best sauna facilities.
Embracing Nature’s Beauty
The TOTOPA Hakata Station aims to enhance relaxation through a fully integrated wood experience. Each sauna session invites patrons to not only sweat but to engage with the aromatic and tactile qualities of cedar wood, whether feeling its texture or breathing in its unique scent. The design carefully utilizes all parts of the tree, from bark to heartwood, ensuring minimal waste and maximum sensory engagement.
This dedication to using sustainable materials means that visitors will come away not just refreshed, but with a deeper appreciation for the environment and the story behind their wellness experience.
A Cultural Hub for Wellness
TOTOPA is more than just a spa; it aims to be a
“Cultural Hub for Wellness.” The vision is to make wellness culture accessible in urban settings while creating memorable experiences. Following the success of the first store, which ranked first in Japan in 2024 and fifth in 2025 according to SAUNACHELIN, the brand continues to innovate and redefine urban relaxation.
Future Forward: Stay Tuned!
As opening day approaches, the TOTOPA team will begin sharing invaluable insights into the design process, the significance of Western Red Cedar, and detailed experience guides through their official website and social media channels. They will highlight what makes the sauna concept unique and how each element of the facility contributes to a holistic wellness journey.
