The IHG Owners Association recently announced the appointment of Prakash Maggan as Chair of its Global Board of Directors for 2026. With a background deeply rooted in the hospitality industry, Maggan is set to guide key initiatives and represent the interests of hotel owners throughout the year.

Prakash Maggan is not just a leader but also a second-generation hotelier who brings a unique perspective shaped by years of experience in hotel operations and finance. He is the Principal and CFO of Rainmaker Hospitality, a company he helped grow from a modest eight hotels to an impressive 29 properties across two states, employing over 600 individuals. Maggan's academic credentials include a degree in accounting from Transylvania University and a law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law, which provide a solid foundation for his leadership role. He is also a licensed CPA, which adds to his financial acumen.

In his new position, Maggan emphasizes the importance of navigating a rapidly evolving hospitality landscape. He believes that collaboration is critical for hotel owners, who face various challenges in maintaining competitiveness in the market. As he stated, “The Association plays an important role in helping them stay competitive and informed.” His approach will focus on listening to the needs of members and working closely with IHG Hotels & Resorts to advance initiatives that promote long-term performance.

Maggan's contributions to the IHG Owners Association are notable—he has been a member of the Board since 2024 and has held key volunteer positions, including chair of the Technology Committee and vice chair of the Americas Regional Council. His dedication to the organization has earned him respect and a strong reputation among his peers.

Steve Sickel, the newly appointed CEO of the IHG Owners Association, has expressed confidence in Maggan’s leadership abilities. The IHG Owners Association itself is a distinguished organization, established by the founder of Holiday Inn, Kemmons Wilson, in 1955. It represents over 5,000 hotel owners of IHG Hotels & Resorts globally, focusing on advocating for their interests and enhancing their returns through various initiatives related to hotel operations.
