Tokyo Bakuzen Launches Expanded Funeral Halls at Yotsugi, Enhancing Accessibility for Families

Tokyo Bakuzen Expands Yotsugi Funeral Hall

Tokyo Bakuzen Co., Ltd., located in Minato, Tokyo, and led by President Ryoma Noguchi, has successfully completed the expansion of the Yotsugi Funeral Hall in Katsushika, Tokyo. This newly enhanced facility is set to begin operations on July 13, 2026, specifically for evening services, marking a significant milestone in addressing the growing and diverse funeral needs in urban areas.

Background of the Expansion

The expansion of the Yotsugi Funeral Hall is part of Tokyo Bakuzen's growth strategy aimed at supporting the increasing demand for funeral services. Recognizing the importance of flexible and convenient offerings, the company has identified the enhancement of existing facilities as a key initiative. This addition follows a similar expansion project completed last year at the Kirigaya Funeral Hall, which contributes significantly to improving the overall functionality of comprehensive funeral and cremation facilities.

Specific Initiatives and Future Plans

Tokyo Bakuzen manages a total of 74 funeral halls across six locations within the 23 wards of Tokyo. With the recent completion of ten new halls at Yotsugi, the total number of halls owned by the company now stands at 84. To provide families with a spacious and comfortable environment, eight of the new halls will feature separate rooms for ceremonies and family gatherings, allowing for a more relaxed atmosphere.

The layout of the Yotsugi Funeral Hall can be flexibly adjusted based on the needs of the families and the scale of the funerals. Initially, eight halls will be operational, but the facility is designed to accommodate up to ten halls, ensuring that families experience seamless service without delays.

To tackle the ongoing issue of waiting times for cremations resulting from a shortage of funeral venues, Tokyo Bakuzen is committed to further expansions and enhancements across other halls.

Details of the New Funeral Halls

Two types of halls have been established: “Hasu” (Lotus) and “Tabi” (Journey), each designed to cater to different needs and preferences of the families.

  • - “Hasu” Hall: This hall features a separate room for ceremonies and gatherings, designed for easy access between the two spaces. Its tranquil color scheme and dignified interior allow it to accommodate family funerals to medium-sized services with comfort and dignity.
  • - “Tabi” Hall: This integrated hall provides a space where families can remain close to the deceased until the end. Effective use of the waiting room allows for a larger number of attendees.

Seating Capacity

  • - “Hasu” Hall: Accommodates from 20 to 40 attendees.
  • - “Tabi” Hall: Suitable for small gatherings of up to 20, although Hall 6 of “Tabi” can host up to 40.

Current and Future Operations

For the time being, operations will focus on eight halls, with flexibility to expand to ten based on demand.
