Three years later, his hard work paid off when he was chosen as one of fewer than 20 candidates from over 6,000 applicants to join GOLD, a prestigious 2½-year rotational program designed to groom future leaders in global operations. "Initially, I doubted my chances of being selected, but I maintained a sliver of hope," Xu reflected upon receiving the news. "When I finally got the offer, I felt an overwhelming sense of happiness and relief."
The Road to Supply Chain Leadership Program at Rutgers is among the latest initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between academic study and professional deployment. His observation of a colleague laboring over manual adjustments led him to develop an Excel tool that created efficiencies within the team. As an advocate for proactive engagement, Sundar Raman, the director of the Road to Supply Chain Leadership Program, highlighted Xu's unique ability to identify opportunities for improvement, stating, "He embodies true leadership."
