Slovakia Pavilion at Osaka Expo Celebrates 2 Million Visitors with Engaging Activities

Slovakia Pavilion at Expo 2025: A Celebration of Culture and Achievement

The ongoing Universal Exposition in Osaka, Japan, has reached a significant milestone. The Commons-C Pavilion, which includes the Slovak exhibit, recently welcomed its two millionth visitor, marking a momentous occasion in the ongoing event. The day of the celebration was filled with joy, the spirit of international cooperation, and numerous interactive experiences, establishing Slovakia as one of the standout contributors at Expo 2025.

On August 9, visitors were treated to a vibrant array of activities tailored for all age groups. The morning was dedicated to engaging children, while the afternoon focused on knowledge-building activities. An interactive quiz tested guests' understanding of Slovakia, covering topics from the country's sports achievements to its cultural traditions and major export industries. This not only provided a fun challenge but also served as an educational opportunity, revealing intriguing facts about Slovakia’s rich European heritage.

Michaela Kovačičová, the Commissioner General representing Slovakia's participation at Expo 2025, reflected on the significance of this celebration: “We have once again demonstrated that Slovakia can participate with creativity, humor, and an open heart. We are thrilled that even within the grand context of the Universal Exposition, visitors left with a piece of Slovakia—through experiences, smiles, and newfound knowledge.”

Throughout the celebrations, the Slovak Pavilion maintained a high level of engagement and interest among visitors. One of the main attractions was a memory game themed around Slovak castles, which attracted roughly 1,500 players daily. Visitors expressed fascination with the pavilion’s visually striking elements, particularly a door adorned with traditional Slovak embroidery and motifs. The exhibit showcased a diverse range of items, from decorative Easter eggs to modern technological products and traditional ceramics, further highlighting Slovakia's cultural wealth. Visitors voted the Slovak stamp among the most appealing in the entire Expo, leading to the pavilion receiving an informal accolade from attendees.

The personal touch of the Slovak team was warmly received. Hostesses fluent in Japanese facilitated deeper conversations and cultural exchanges during daily interactions. These efforts were appreciated by Japanese visitors, with gestures of kindness including small gifts, origami, and hand-painted portraits, enhancing the overall experience at the Slovak Pavilion.

Slovakia Travel is the national organization dedicated to promoting tourism in Slovakia, focusing on developing both domestic and international tourism markets. This achievement at Expo 2025 not only serves to elevate Slovakia’s profile on the global stage but also exemplifies the country’s commitment to showcasing its culture and heritage.

As the Expo continues, the Slovak Pavilion stands out as a beacon of cultural expression and international friendship, inviting visitors from all over the world to explore and learn about the heart of Europe.
