A Positive Turn on Negatives: The KREO PLANet Initiative
In today's rapidly changing world, the ability to transform negative situations into positive outcomes is essential. Recognizing this need, KREO Inc., based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has introduced an innovative initiative called
KREO PLANet. This program focuses on enabling students to tackle various societal issues from negative viewpoints and proposes constructive solutions. By embracing the unique perspectives of the younger generation, KREO aims to harness their creativity and drive to effect real change.
1. Background and Goals
As collaborations between universities and companies continue to accelerate, KREO views this initiative as an extension of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The objective is to provide students with a robust platform where they can learn to identify problems, develop solutions, and present actionable plans in a cohesive manner. This experience not only equips them with vital skills needed in the workplace but also establishes a connection between their educational journey and future career opportunities.
The project encourages university students to identify common societal grievances or 'societal negatives' that they encounter in their daily lives. By leveraging their fresh perspectives, they will generate innovative ideas and visually communicate these concepts to the public. This initiative focuses on the resourcefulness that students possess, channeling their creativity into solutions that can make a tangible difference.
2. Program Overview
The KREO PLANet initiative consists of several key components aimed at engaging students through directed activities:
1.
Problem Discovery Workshops
Students will conduct their independent research to identify the negative elements present in society. They will establish themes to address, guided by their findings.
2.
Planning and Proposal Sessions
In collaboration with KREO employees, students will participate in discussions that help them shape the core of their proposed initiatives.
3.
Visual Concept Creation
Working closely with graphic designers from KREO, students will transform their conceptual ideas into visual formats that effectively communicate their messages.
4.
Presentation and Distribution of Proposals
The final proposals will be presented by the students, who will share their work through the KREO PLANet platform, ensuring that these innovative ideas reach a wider audience.
