Leadership Team Introduced


Alongside Wood, TMHNA's newly appointed senior leadership team includes notable industry veterans:
  • - Michael Field has transitioned from his previous role as President and CEO of The Raymond Corporation to become TMHNA's Chief Operations Officer. With over 30 years of industry experience, Field will oversee engineering, aftermarket services, energy storage solutions, and automation, among other areas. "We will accelerate technology and product investments, bringing best-in-class solutions to market faster," Field remarked.
  • - Sam Coles, recognized for his extensive background in the material handling industry, has joined as the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Previously serving as President of Toyota Material Handling International, Coles will guide sales, marketing, and pricing strategies for both brands in North America. He noted that this integration would enhance customer relationship management and ensure customer needs remain a priority.
  • - Tony Miller is appointed as TMHNA's Chief Supply Officer. With a career at Toyota that spans over 25 years, Miller will oversee all manufacturing plants in North America. Emphasizing the core values of manufacturing excellence, he stated, "There is a Japanese word – Monozukuri – that perfectly describes my aspiration for our team."
  • - Mark Taggart, promoted to Chief Administration Officer, brings his experience as TMHNA's Chief Financial Officer to lead finance, human resources, and legal teams. He highlighted that the vision is to be the most innovative and reliable partner in the industry, prioritizing the success of dealers and customers alike.

Commitment to Growth and Efficiency


Despite concerns about consolidation, TMHNA's integration is characterized by a commitment to growth. The organization aims to invest significantly in its workforce of over 16,000 associates and its facilities. Recent investments include $50 million for upgrades and advanced equipment at its manufacturing plants in Greene, New York, and Muscatine, Iowa.

Looking ahead, Toyota is set to invest nearly $100 million to construct a new 295,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at its North American headquarters in Columbus, Indiana. This state-of-the-art factory will focus on producing electric material handling equipment, thereby enhancing production flexibility and sustainability efforts.

With one in three forklifts sold in North America being a Toyota or Raymond product, TMHNA's leadership remains confident in their strategies for continued success and market presence.
