Countdown to FITUR 2025: The Premier Global Tourism Event in Madrid

The international tourism fair, FITUR 2025, is just around the corner, organized by IFEMA MADRID. From January 22 to 26, the event will convene a global audience of tourism professionals, marking its 45th edition. This year, FITUR aims to highlight the remarkable achievements of the tourism sector in 2024 and share optimistic prospects for 2025.

An Overview of FITUR 2025

With participation from over 9,500 companies across 156 countries, the fair anticipates hosting approximately 150,000 professional visitors during the weekdays and around 100,000 general public attendees over the weekend. This tremendous influx is expected to contribute an estimated 445 million euros to Madrid's economy, benefiting various sectors such as mobility, hospitality, culture, and leisure.

FITUR re-establishes itself as the leading global event in the tourism sector, emphasizing its role as the number one venue by participant volume. The fair has experienced a 10% overall increase in direct exhibitors, with a notable 19% rise in international representation. Additionally, the roster of countries represented has expanded to include five new entries from Africa and Asia.

Innovations and Sustainability

One of the highlights of FITUR 2025 is the Travel Technology area, which has grown by 6% and will showcase over 100 companies demonstrating the latest in tourism technology and booking management systems. Notably, Brazil will join as the Partner Country, aiming to present its diverse tourism offerings and boost its global positioning.

Data from Brazil's Ministry of Tourism indicates that 2024 was a record-setting year, attracting 6.6 million international tourists—an increase of 12.6% from the previous year. This reflects a strong recovery and growth trajectory in the global tourism landscape.
