GAC International Achieves Remarkable Sales Growth in Half-Year Results

GAC International Reports Outstanding Half-Year Results

GAC International has made headlines with its impressive sales figures for the first half of 2026. The company has seen its wholesale sales in international markets and retail sales to end consumers double year-over-year. With total exports reaching 121,483 units, GAC is nearly matching its total export volume from the previous year, marking a significant milestone for the company with a substantial 132% increase compared to the same period last year.

Strong Sales Across Regions

The remarkable performance of GAC has been evident across all regions. In the Americas, Mexico stood out for its exceptional sales, where the models AION ES and AION UT secured spots among the top ten for battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales. Bolivia has solidified GAC's standing as the best-selling Chinese car brand, while Brazil, Colombia, and other markets have also shown significant sales growth.

In the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Hong Kong, GAC achieved a record high in electric vehicle sales in April, reaching over 11% market share from January to May after government subsidies phased out. Singapore ranked second in the BEV segment with nearly 7% market share in April, while Thailand maintained its leadership in the electric taxi sector. Malaysia and Indonesia are also witnessing noteworthy growth.

Strategic Expansion in Europe

GAC is continuing to drive its strategic expansion in Europe. The AION UT has commenced production in Austria and had its European debut in Milan, subsequently launching in the UK and Spain, establishing a seamless operational framework. In the Middle East and Africa, the EMZOOM model has held the leading position in the Lebanese B-segment SUV market, with a notable increase in cumulative sales compared to the previous year.

Reputation for Quality and Strength

Globally, GAC has garnered a reputation for the quality and strength of its vehicles. In Kuwait, it was recognized twice as the top Chinese automaker for overall vehicle quality and highest residual value. In Thailand, GAC topped the list for residual values among all Chinese brands three years post-purchase. The AION UT's success story continues, ranking first in sales for pure electric compact cars in Hong Kong, Colombia, Uruguay, and Singapore. In Australia, over 600 pre-orders have been submitted for this model, which has also received numerous accolades, including the title of “Bolivia's Best-Selling BEV” and top export growth for Chinese A0 electric compact cars in May. Additionally, the AION V has marked new sales records overseas, being nominated for the “Drive's Car of the Year 2026” award and crowned “No.1 Elite Electric SUV” in Hong Kong.

Future Outlook

The performance in the first half of 2026 highlights GAC International's robust growth and relentless strategy for global expansion. The company is dedicated to maintaining this momentum and is well-positioned to seize increasing market opportunities in the burgeoning electric vehicle industry.
