As of January 23, 2026, the company has appointed Shane M. O'Kelly, the current President and CEO of Advance Auto Parts, to its Board of Directors. Upcoming Transition in Leadership
The company will see a pivotal transition on October 1, 2026, with the retirement of Executive Chair Donald Allan Jr. Upon his departure, current independent director Debra Crew will step up as Chair of the Board. Debra Crew, who has been a director at Stanley Black & Decker since December 2013 and has held various senior roles in well-established corporations, will first serve as the Lead Independent Director until her official chairmanship begins.
Crew's varied career includes leading Diageo plc as CEO while bringing in crucial marketing and operational skills from her previous roles in Reynolds American, PepsiCo, and other major companies. Donald Allan has expressed gratitude for former Lead Independent Director Andrea Ayers’s contributions, especially during the company's transformation.

His past roles encompassing leadership at HD Supply, PetroChoice Holdings, and A.H. Harris & Sons confirm his capabilities to strategically drive growth within Stanley Black & Decker.
