Starbucks Enhances Travel Experience
Starbucks Coffee Japan, headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, recently renewed its branch at the JR Shin-Yokohama Station to enhance customer service. Opening again on June 24, 2026, after renovations, the Starbucks is located on the Shinkansen down track. Starting July 28, 2026, the coffee shop will implement complete cashless ordering at the counter and provide the option for payment via registered Starbucks Card codes, improving the payment methods available to customers.
This new cashless experience enhances the journey for travelers, allowing them to order via mobile or at the counter using various digital wallets and credit cards. Additionally, regular customers can enjoy collecting digital stamps at the store through the Starbucks Rewards program — now featuring the signature stamp for the JR Shin-Yokohama Station outlet.
The Perfect Coffee Experience at the Journey's Start
Starbucks' mission is to deliver the best coffee experience right when customers embark on their journeys. The upgraded store aims to enrich the moment of departure with quality coffee options and quick service. Customers can choose from specially brewed coffee selections, including both caffeinated and decaffeinated choices, alongside compatible light snacks. This allows them to enjoy a fulfilling coffee moment even when on the go, making it perfect for the upcoming summer travel season.
The experience at Shin-Yokohama will soon expand, with planned openings in 2027 at JR Nagoya Station and JR Kyoto Station, allowing customers to enjoy Starbucks coffee and snacks right on the Shinkansen platform. With every journey filled with anticipation and excitement, Starbucks seeks to provide a joyful experience that complements travel.
