In a significant move to support consumers amid rising living costs, Wolt Japan Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, has partnered with Ootoya Co., Ltd., based in Yokohama, Kanagawa, to launch a new delivery pricing initiative. Starting February 4, 2026, this collaboration will allow customers to order from Ootoya’s 75 locations across eight prefectures in Japan, enjoying delivery prices that match in-store prices.

Traditionally, food delivery services have often marked up the prices of items compared to those available at physical stores. This disconnect has become increasingly burdensome for consumers, especially as the prices of essential food and daily goods continue to rise. Understanding the impact these increased costs have on households, Wolt aims to alleviate some of this pressure by implementing the initiative called “Delivery Prices Matching In-Store Prices.”

The participating stores from Ootoya will feature popular menu items such as the “Chicken and Vegetables in Black Vinegar Sauce Bento” and the “Ginger Pork Bento,” allowing customers to enjoy their favorite dishes at the same prices they would pay in-store. Each meal is carefully prepared in-house by Ootoya, ensuring a delicious experience delivered conveniently to your home or workplace.
