GAC International Achieves Remarkable Growth in First Half of 2026



GAC International has delivered a strong performance in the first half of 2026, with overseas wholesale and retail volumes experiencing a remarkable twofold increase compared to the previous year. The total exports reached an impressive 121,483 units, nearly aligning with the entire export volume from last year. This translates to a staggering 132% year-on-year growth, marking a significant milestone in the company's history.

Regional Highlights



GAC's growth trajectory has been consistent across multiple regions, showcasing its increasing global footprint. In the Americas, Mexico emerged as a standout performer, with the AION ES and AION UT securing top spots in the battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales rankings. Meanwhile, Bolivia has positioned itself as the top-selling Chinese passenger brand. Countries like Brazil, Colombia, and several others in the region have also displayed impressive growth figures.

Across the Asia-Pacific, GAC's achievements were particularly noteworthy in Hong Kong SAR, where it attained the number one sales position for private electric vehicles (EVs) in April following the subsidy phase-out. From January to May, GAC held a cumulative market share exceeding 11%. In Singapore, the brand ranked second among pure EV models in April, claiming nearly 7% of the market share. Thailand has maintained its dominant position in the electric taxi segment, while Malaysia and Indonesia also demonstrated notable sales growth.

As for Europe, GAC is accelerating its strategic expansion, with the AION UT commencing production in Austria and making its first appearance in Milan. The brand is officially entering the UK and Spain, thereby establishing a comprehensive operational network within Europe.

In the Middle East and Africa, GAC's EMZOOM secured the top position in Lebanon's B-segment SUV market. Furthermore, the region has seen substantial increases in cumulative sales year-on-year, highlighting the growing demand for GAC's offerings.

Recognition and Achievements



GAC's commitment to quality has been recognized on a global scale. In Kuwait, the company earned accolades for the best overall vehicle quality and the highest residual value among Chinese automakers. GAC led all Chinese brands in three-year residual value in Thailand, further solidifying its reputation in the competitive automotive market.

The AION UT has been a star performer, claiming the number one position in pure electric hatchback sales across Hong Kong SAR, Colombia, Uruguay, and Singapore.
