Experience a Unique Train Adventure at the Electric Train Doctor Camp

A Unique Adventure Awaits: The Electric Train Doctor Camp

In an exciting initiative for train enthusiasts, Plus One Education, a subsidiary of Riso Education Group, is hosting the "Electric Train Doctor Camp" on February 7-8, 2026. This special camp allows children to stay overnight in an actual limited express train, the Azusa, while engaging in a myriad of railway activities designed to educate and inspire.

Highlights of the Camp

1. Overnight Stay in the Legendary Azusa Train!

Participants will have the chance to sleep in a real Azusa train car, an experience any young train enthusiast would dream of. Before bedtime, campers can step into the driver’s seat to try their hand at opening and closing doors, making onboard announcements, and using the brake levers and buzzing instruments. This unique opportunity to stay in a train will create unforgettable memories.

2. Exclusive Crew Experience on a Private Ueda Electric Train

The camp offers a private train operated by Ueda Electric Railway exclusively for participants. This rare chance includes observing the driver's cabin while the train is in motion, and accessing areas usually off-limits, like the train depot. Kids can even take the controls and experience operating a train, learning the intricacies and behind-the-scenes aspects of the railway industry.

3. Discover the Charm of Railways at the Usui Pass Railway Cultural Village

On the second day, the group will visit the Usui Pass Railway Cultural Village in Gunma Prefecture. Here, campers can explore exhibits featuring historic locomotives and rare trains from the Japanese National Railways era, deepening their appreciation for the railway's history and technology. Participants are encouraged to take memorable photos in front of their favorite train exhibits, making for a perfect second day.
