The Partner Companies Enhances Manufacturing Portfolio with Precision Eforming Acquisition

The Partner Companies Acquires Precision Eforming

In a significant move to bolster its manufacturing capabilities, The Partner Companies (TPC) announced the acquisition of Precision Eforming, a company renowned for its expertise in electroformed metal manufacturing. This acquisition serves to enhance TPC's offerings in micro-component manufacturing and provides access to rapidly growing end markets, including aerospace, medical, defense, electronics, and energy sectors.

Precision Eforming, based in Cortland, New York, specializes in the production of sieve and mesh products, crucial in applications that require meticulous control, repeatability, and versatility. Their metal components are designed for separating and filtering materials—be it light, sound, air, or powdered substances. According to TPC's Chief Financial Officer Christian Streu, "With a legacy spanning more than a century, Precision Eforming brings unmatched expertise in 2D electroforming and long-standing customer relationships across more than 60 industries."

This acquisition, finalized in June 2025, marks TPC's eleventh since its inception in 1997, highlighting its commitment to expanding its specialty manufacturing capabilities. Currently operating across the U.S., China, Mexico, and Wales, TPC aims to integrate Precision Eforming's advanced manufacturing techniques into its operational framework to better serve its clientele's evolving needs.

The foundation of Precision Eforming dates back to 1907, starting as the Buckbee-Mears Company in St. Paul, Minnesota, known for its pioneering work in photo-engraving and metal etching. They played a crucial role during World War II by developing etched grids for military equipment and later leveraged electroforming to satisfy the burgeoning demands of the television electronics industry in the 1960s.

By 2002, the company relocated its electroforming division to Cortland and rebranded as Precision Eforming in collaboration with investment firm Torridon Companies in 2004. This rebranding came as a crucial pivot point, allowing them to maintain a legacy of innovation and craftsmanship while ensuring top-notch quality in American manufacturing. Since 2011, Julie Griffin has been at the helm as president, steering the company toward new horizons.

Now, under TPC's umbrella, Griffin expresses her excitement: "Joining forces with TPC marks an exciting new chapter for Precision Eforming to accelerate innovation, expand into new markets and continue delivering the precision and reliability our customers expect. With TPC, Precision Eforming will have the resources it needs to continue to grow and evolve."

The Significance of Electroforming

Electroforming stands as a transformative additive manufacturing process that builds high-precision metal parts through electrodeposition. Precision Eforming's proprietary methods enable the creation of ultra-fine mesh products with precise features, tight tolerances, and robust reproducibility. This technology is crucial across various critical applications ranging from medical imaging to fuel filtration systems in advanced aerospace technologies.

Precision Eforming's unique approach has set a standard in its industry. Through meticulous processes and innovative strategies, the company continuously meets evolving market demands while maintaining strict quality control standards. Their new partnership with TPC is poised to further enhance their capabilities, aligning with TPC’s growth strategy aimed at enriching their existing customer relationships and expanding into new sectors.
