On September 18, 2026, the Japan Good Builder Association (JGBA) will host a critical seminar aimed at discussing new norms in strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&A) within the residential and remodeling sectors. This event will be spearheaded by Top-class Oliver President Hiroshi Ogawa, alongside Executive Officer Akimura Hirou of Kuratomi-Sahara M&A Office, who will delve into practical examples of M&A strategies specific to the housing industry.

Event Overview


The event, titled "New Norms in Strategic M&A for the Housing and Remodeling Industry: Conversing with President Ogawa of Oliver, a Top-class Company in the Hokuriku Region," aims to equip attendees from housing and remodeling enterprises with the insights required to navigate the ever-changing future of the industry.

Scheduled to run from 16:00 to 18:00 at the JGBA Tokyo Office and via Zoom webinar, the seminar will address critical industry issues. The rising cost of building materials and the ongoing labor shortage have left many in the housing sector wondering how to combat these difficulties. Are businesses supposed to tackle these challenges independently or unite through a group approach?

Participation Details


Attendance is free for JGBA member companies both in-person and online. Non-member companies will incur a nominal fee of 20,000 yen for in-person attendance or 10,000 yen for online access, with free viewing for the first 30 minutes. Additionally, participants in the seminar will be gifted a "Cash Flow and Risk Assessment Material," while a networking gathering will be available at a cost of 6,000 to 8,000 yen.

Target participants include housing and remodeling companies, particularly owners and management staff.
