Revamped Official App from Toys'R'Us and DearOne
In a groundbreaking move to enhance customer engagement, Toys'R'Us Japan and DearOne, a subsidiary of NTT Docomo, have announced a significant update to their official app, the "Toys'R'Us & Babies'R'Us" application. This renovation promises to streamline the shopping experience for customers by integrating a host of new features, including a seamless barcode payment system and a stamp card functionality.
Major Highlights of the App Renewal
The recent update has transformed the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of the app. The member barcode, point balance, and eligibility for member services previously required navigating away from the homepage; now, these critical features are consolidated on the main screen. This enhancement allows users to select coupons directly from the homepage or tab bar, promoting a more accessible shopping experience. Furthermore, the app now supports offline functionality, ensuring that users can access important features without needing a stable internet connection, making the process even more user-friendly.
A notable addition is the “Payment App Selection” feature located at the bottom right corner of the screen. This new function enables users to conveniently present their membership information and complete their payment all on one page, significantly improving the in-store experience.
Key Features of the App
- - Member Barcode: Right upon opening the app, users can see their member barcode displayed at all times. The offline capability ensures that users can still show this barcode even in areas with poor connectivity, facilitating smooth transactions at checkout.
- - Point Management: Users can easily track their points—regular points, limited-time points, and total accumulated points. They can also check the expiration date of their regular points at a glance, helping them avoid the common pitfall of losing points.
- - Eligibility for Member Services: The app allows users to confirm their eligibility for monthly services such as “Hello Baby Point Day” and “Grandparent Benefits Day.” These services offer significantly increased point returns on qualifying purchases, enhancing engagement and rewards for members.
- - Smooth Integration with Barcode Payments: Customers can select from various barcode payment apps directly from the app's home screen, including popular options like PayPay and Rakuten Pay. Once an app is selected, it will be the standard choice in future sessions, allowing for a tailored experience.
- - Home Screen: Users can switch between tabs for Toys'R'Us and Babies'R'Us seamlessly, allowing for age-appropriate information tailored to their children’s needs.
- - In-App Coupons: Easily accessible coupons can now be found directly from the home screen and tab bar, allowing users to quickly save money at checkout.
- - Online Store Access: Shoppers can enjoy online shopping directly through the app, making it easy to purchase items that catch their interest.
- - Store Locator: With GPS functionality, customers can quickly find nearby stores and get essential information on them.
- - Stamp Card Feature: Customers can accumulate stamps by scanning a QR code during their visits, setting the stage for future stamp rallies and campaigns.
