AIP Capital Expands Leadership Team for Enhanced Growth

AIP Capital, a prominent player in the alternative investment management sector, has made significant strides in expanding its leadership team by announcing several key appointments. The firm, which specializes in asset-based finance, is set to enhance its operational capabilities and market reach as it welcomes Chris O'Scannlain as Chief Risk Officer based in Stamford, Connecticut, and Omar Mian as Managing Director, EMEA, located in Dublin, Ireland. This strategic expansion is part of AIP's ongoing commitment to fortify its global position and offer comprehensive investment solutions.

In a statement from Jared Ailstock, Managing Partner at AIP Capital, he expressed immense satisfaction regarding the recruitment of Mr. O'Scannlain and Mr. Mian, recognizing their expertise and leadership as integral to the firm's ongoing growth. "We are thrilled to welcome Chris and Omar to our expanding team. Their backgrounds and insights will be invaluable as we strengthen the AIP platform into a fully integrated service provider on a global scale," Ailstock stated.

Mr. O'Scannlain's role as Chief Risk Officer will focus on developing and maintaining an independent risk management framework. His impressive experience—spanning over two decades in aviation finance—includes previous positions at Apollo PK AirFinance, where he led credit risk assessments, and SMBC Aviation Capital across the Americas. His foundational experience began with corporate finance at US Airways, where he was instrumental in handling a significant restructuring initiative. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA in History from the College of the Holy Cross.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mian brings a wealth of experience in finance and marketing to his new role as Managing Director for the EMEA region. His professional journey includes a notable tenure with The Boeing Company, where he was pivotal in managing customer finance initiatives targeting airlines and asset managers in Europe and the Middle East. Mian's earlier roles at Citigroup and Standard Chartered Bank helped shape his expertise in structuring and executing complex financing solutions across various sectors within the aviation industry. He earned a Master’s in International Accounting and Finance from The London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s in Business Economics from the University of Durham.

Additionally, the firm has promoted Sinead O'Donnell to Chief Financial Officer, a role in which she will continue to guide AIP's Finance and Operations team while taking on additional responsibilities in asset management and equipment financing. Having been with AIP since its inception in 2023 in the capacity of Chief Accounting Officer, her leadership has been pivotal in navigating the company through its early stages.

AIP Capital, which manages approximately $3 billion in assets and employs over 30 professionals across various global offices—Stamford, Dublin, New York, and Singapore— leverages its unique investment strategy and hands-on approach to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns for its clients through fluctuating market conditions. The firm remains committed to cultivating strong relationships and maintaining a robust operational backbone to support its ambitions in asset-based finance.

As AIP Capital embarks upon this exciting new chapter, the team is poised to enhance its service offerings while continuing to attract top talent in the investment management arena.
