Discovering Innovative Approaches to Obesity Management
In an era where the treatment of obesity is experiencing remarkable advancements, Gutte, a leading company based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is set to host an enlightening online seminar titled “Practical Approaches to Weight Management and Nutrition Management, Including Obesity Medications in Japan and the US.” Scheduled for March 22, 2026, the event aims to bridge knowledge gaps among dietitians, nutritionists, and healthcare professionals regarding the evolving landscape of obesity treatment.
Background of the Seminar
The last few years have marked a significant shift in obesity treatment, primarily driven by the emergence of GLP-1 receptor agonists and other anti-obesity medications. As drug therapies gain traction, pertinent questions arise in clinical practice: How will dietary and nutritional support change? What roles should dietitians undertake?
To address these inquiries, Gutte has been facilitating a community of registered dietitians in both Japan and the United States since 2022, named the Global Practical Nutrition (GPN). This initiative aims to cultivate a global perspective on nutrition science and practical application, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange within the field.
This upcoming seminar will feature expert speakers: a registered dietitian from the forefront of clinical practice in the US and a clinical nutrition specialist in Japan actively involved in obesity treatment. With a focus on the latest developments in obesity medications, participants will engage in a two-hour program that sheds light on how nutritionists and healthcare providers can effectively contribute to patient care from a comparative perspective.
