Creating a Future Together with AI: Highlights from Uhuru's Event

A Glimpse into the Future: AI and Society

On Monday, July 7, 2025, Uhuru Inc., headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, organized an event titled ‘Creating a Future Together with AI’, focusing on the transformative changes in business and society brought about by generative AI. This gathering attracted a diverse audience of business executives, DX promotion officers, and engineers eager to discuss the current state of AI and collaborative efforts in this domain.

Objectives of the Event

The event aimed to provide a platform where participants could share practical insights on not fearing the changes brought by AI evolution, but rather engaging with these advancements as powerful business tools. The agenda included keynote speeches, engaging talk sessions, special sessions, and panel discussions, each designed to explore various perspectives on the societal implications of AI implementation.

Opening Remarks from Uhuru's CEO

The CEO of Uhuru, Takafumi Sonoda, opened the event by highlighting the company’s commitment to promoting a sustainable society through innovative thinking and technology. He emphasized the importance of integrating technology with human needs, culture, and nature when forging a sustainable future. He stated, “Our mission is to deliver technology beneficial to society through collaborative efforts with trustworthy partners.” Sonoda also introduced their platform, ‘CUBE 01’, marking the day as the start of a new journey.

Transforming Society with AI: Insights from Gen-AX

Shinjiro Sugaki, CEO of Gen-AX Inc., a subsidiary of SoftBank focusing on generative AI SaaS and business transformation consulting, delivered the keynote address. He discussed how AI is shaping our work and society. Sugaki posited that companies and individuals must understand their roles concerning AI’s transformative potential, highlighting that the term ‘AX’ signifies transformation through AI. He projected a future where autonomous AI agents will seamlessly integrate into both enterprises and personal lives, likening them to personal assistants akin to smartphones.

Panel Discussion on Business Models in AI

A talk session hosted by Megumi Wakabayashi of Kurotori Company and Nahoya Sakamoto from Uhuru broached the question, “Is there a business model for generative AI?” Wakabayashi shared her experiences from China, where industries are embracing AI as a national strategy to transform existing sectors into AI-native frameworks. She articulated the necessity for Japanese firms to rethink societal infrastructures through the lens of AI, as exemplified by China’s strategic incorporation of AI across agriculture and manufacturing.

Salesforce on Digital Workforce Development

Takuhiko Nakaya from Salesforce Japan discussed the pivotal role of data frameworks in realizing a ‘Digital Workforce.’ He stressed the importance of having readily accessible data for effective AI application in business environments. Drawing from Salesforce’s extensive CRM experience, Nakaya laid out the three critical layers necessary for AI integration: metadata, semantics, and data governance. He envisioned a future where multiple AI agents operate in harmony to streamline business functions, highlighting the necessity for a shared data understanding among them.

Closing Thoughts: AI as a Collaborative Partner

The concluding panel, moderated by Sakamoto from Uhuru, reflected on how AI is transitioning from a mere tool to a collaborative partner in the workplace. Sugaki forecasted that over the next three years, AI will evolve to continuously support human endeavors rather than waiting for instructions. Nakaya reinforced this shift by advocating for prioritizing data organization before deciding on AI implementation, promoting a strategy where companies focus on their unique needs within the evolving AI landscape.

Through this event, Uhuru demonstrated its commitment to engaging in meaningful dialogue with corporations and government bodies about the changes brought by AI in society and business. By fostering discussions that transcend technology and address cultural, organizational, and societal transformation, they aim to cultivate the inherent value of co-creating a future alongside AI.
