CSL Group Enhances Global eSIM Management with IoTM Solutions Acquisition

In a strategic move to solidify its leading position in the field of Critical Connectivity®, CSL Group has recently acquired IoTM Solutions Ltd. This acquisition aims to create a robust global platform focused on managing multi-operator IoT connectivity and orchestration of eSIM technology, thereby catering to the demands of the next generation of IoT deployments.

As IoT deployments accelerate globally, businesses and service providers often face challenges in managing SIM cards and eSIM profiles across various platforms and portals due to fragmentation. This complexity can slow down operator integration and complicate compliance with evolving regulations, as well as ongoing maintenance issues. The integration of IoTM Solutions enhances CSL's capability to help clients build resilient global IoT infrastructures that can adapt to network outages and changing regulations, enabling a seamless transition to the GSMA's next-generation eSIM standard, SGP.32.

A Resilient IoT Operation for Global Connectivity

Founded in 2015, IoTM Solutions has developed a cloud-native platform that combines the fragmented systems of operators, connectivity management platforms (CMP), and eSIM workflows into a single managed service, offering a centralized overview for users. This vendor-independent platform supports both existing environments and new deployments, allowing clients to manage the lifecycle of SIM cards and eSIM profiles, usage reports, support workflows, and API access through a unified operational model encompassing multiple operators and platforms. With this frictionless approach, users can manage their entire SIM card fleet seamlessly, achieving operational efficiency in hours rather than days.

With over 30 million SIM cards currently managed and the capability to integrate over a billion, the platform boasts more than 20 native integrations with CMPs, APIs, and operator platforms, providing access to more than 100 mobile operators. Such integration equips CSL with immediate global reach and deep operational capabilities across its suite of Critical Connectivity® services and its patented rSIM technology, offering customers enhanced choices and added value.

Combining the resilience provided by rSIM technology with CSL's managed IoT services, IoTM Solutions expands CSL's comprehensive resilient connectivity offering beyond network switching. Clients can now manage service outages, local operator requirements, permanent roaming restrictions, and evolving market conditions through a single platform.

Dan Amir, CEO and co-founder of IoTM Solutions, stated, “IoTM was created to simplify IoT connectivity management across multiple operators, platforms, and countries. Our integration into CSL Group allows us to offer this solution to a broader global audience while leveraging CSL’s managed connectivity services and the resilience offered by rSIM technology. Together, we can help customers and mobile operators streamline their SIM and eSIM management and prepare for the next generation of global IoT.”

The team from IoTM Solutions will join CSL, and their platform will continue to support existing clients, operators, and service provider partners.

Strengthening CSL’s Capabilities

CSL already offers managed IoT connectivity and its proprietary rSIM technology, which ensures the resilience of critical applications essential for life and business. With the integration of IoTM, CSL is extending its role beyond connectivity, providing a unique operational model that facilitates the management of SIMs, eSIMs, operators, and platforms throughout the device lifecycle.

Together, CSL and IoTM Solutions empower clients to roll out solutions at a global scale, adapt to local operator requirements and regulations, automate SIM lifecycle management, and bolster operational resilience as their IoT fleets expand. This operational approach lays the groundwork for the widespread adoption of SGP.32 while alleviating the operational complexity faced by businesses, service providers, and mobile operators.

Preparing for the Next Generation of eSIM

The shift to the SGP.32 standard, which represents the new generation of architecture for eSIMs in IoT, is among the most significant changes in how connected devices are configured, managed, and supported throughout their lifecycle. As businesses expand internationally and permanent roaming restrictions continue to evolve, organizations require increased levels of automation, orchestration, and operational control over their fleets of SIM and eSIM.

By integrating IoTM Solutions' connectivity management platform with its managed IoT services and patented rSIM resilience technology, CSL lays down the necessary operational foundations for both today's global IoT deployments and tomorrow's SGP.32 ecosystem.

Ed Heale, CEO of CSL Group, remarked, “The SGP.32 standard marks a significant turning point in IoT connectivity management since the introduction of eSIM technology. Customers will not only need a new standard; they will require a new operational model. The integration of IoTM Solutions into CSL Group allows us to achieve this by combining IoT connectivity management, eSIM orchestration, and resilient connectivity into a single service that readies our clients for the next generation of IoT.”

The financial terms of the acquisition have not been made public.
