In 2014, Lei Zhen, a Tsinghua University graduate, relocated to the Special Administrative Region (SAR) of Macao to embark on his entrepreneurial journey. He began his endeavors in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, focusing on innovative applications of new materials, particularly nano-silver wire technology.
To leverage the capital, talent, and tax advantages available in Macao and Zhuhai, Lei moved his business to the newly established deep cooperation zone in Chengqin in 2021. According to Lei, "Chengqin offers expansive industrial spaces and a supportive environment, which provides a broad platform for developing advanced technologies and diversifying industries in Macao."
Today, the cooperation zone has emerged as a thriving center for innovation and entrepreneurship, hosting nearly 6,500 businesses with investments from Macao. This active zone has become a vital platform for nurturing new industries and supporting Macao’s economic diversification.
