MOM'S TOUCH Expands Franchise Business in Japan
MOM'S TOUCH TOKYO, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, is making significant strides in expanding its franchise operations within the Japanese market. Recently, they signed a franchise agreement with Kagisan Co., Ltd., also based in Tokyo. This marks the first franchise contract in the country, with plans to open the inaugural store in the commercial facility, BLiX Chigasaki, by the fall of 2025.
Having been involved in community-centric businesses for over 150 years, Kagisan is set to play a pivotal role in MOM'S TOUCH’s expansion strategy. The partnership aims to serve as the launch point for the growth of franchise operations throughout Japan.
During the signing ceremony held on June 30, 2025, Kagisan’s representative, Hiromasa Ito, shared insights from an impressive 45-year history in operating rival burger chains. He visited MOM'S TOUCH's Shibuya location to assess product quality and sales performance, leading to his decision to partner with the brand. Ito expressed his admiration for MOM'S TOUCH, stating, "I deeply resonate with their passion and attitude toward challenges, and I am attracted by their unique brand identity and the enthusiasm of their workforce."
Future Prospects
The contract with Kagisan marks a significant milestone, enabling MOM'S TOUCH to formalize its franchise business in Japan. The company is focused on implementing a two-track strategy that targets both commercial and residential areas. Their ambitious goal is to open 10 franchise stores and secure 30 franchise agreements throughout Japan by the end of 2025.
Furthermore, MOM'S TOUCH plans to prioritize on-ground support rather than top-down directives. This approach includes localizing menus and promotions, introducing self-order kiosks, and utilizing digital solutions such as Local Store Marketing (LSM) analytics. These strategies aim to offer operational support that resonates with local customers.
MOM'S TOUCH aims not just to be a Korean brand but to seamlessly integrate into the everyday lives of the people in Japan. Through their collaboration with Kagisan, they are set to present a fresh option in Japan's dining landscape. The company is also open to exploring partnerships with various candidates, including businesses considering brand introduction and individual entrepreneurs experienced in the restaurant industry, as they pursue a national franchise expansion.
