Supporting Women's Health in Tokyo's Workplaces
In Tokyo, a significant initiative has been launched aimed at improving the health and well-being of female employees across various industries. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government recognizes that women face unique health challenges due to life stages and hormonal changes. Therefore, they are actively seeking model companies to participate in a health support program that leverages corporate health check-ups.
Overview of the Initiative
This program serves two primary purposes: to foster workplaces that ensure women can maintain their health and to enhance overall productivity and growth for businesses. Selected companies will be involved in health-related projects addressing the specific health issues that women encounter. The initiative aims to document the current status of these health challenges in the workforce and share successful case studies to encourage others to follow suit.
Company Involvement
Participating companies will be required to:
- - Conduct pre-and post-surveys targeted at female employees and HR personnel.
- - Carry out health screenings focused on women’s health issues, including gynecological examinations, using the corporate health check-up framework.
- - Collaborate with a designated office for hearings and assessments to discuss findings.
- - Facilitate media interviews regarding the publication of case studies.
Note that expenses for conducting health screenings will be the responsibility of the participating companies.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, companies must either implement new health screening tests related to women's specific health issues or already be conducting such examinations. The initiative is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses located in Tokyo. For detailed eligibility criteria, applicants are encouraged to consult the official webpage of the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, known as the "TOKYO Working Network."

The application window for this initiative has been extended. Interested companies can submit their applications between July 13, 2021, at 10:00 AM, and August 5, 2021, at 5:00 PM.
