Disneyland Resort Celebrates 70th Anniversary with New Attractions and Special Events

Disneyland Resort Celebrates 70 Years of Magic

On July 17, 2025, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, marks a remarkable milestone: the 70th anniversary of its opening. Since its inception on July 17, 1955, Disneyland has redefined family entertainment and remains a beacon of joy and inspiration, a vision first articulated by its founder, Walt Disney. The resort is set to celebrate this historic occasion with the introduction of the new attraction "Walt Disney – A Magical Life," alongside various special events that pay homage to its rich heritage.

Premiering the Iconic Attraction

The highlight of the celebrations will be the debut of the attraction "Walt Disney – A Magical Life," which takes place at the Main Street Opera House. This captivating experience features a cinematic journey that chronicles Walt Disney's life and legacy. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to engage with Walt himself, brought to life through innovative Audio-Animatronics technology that captures the essence of his office and creative spirit.

Each guest is invited to enjoy a heartfelt pre-show video tribute titled "Memories of Walt," wherein individuals who worked directly with Disney, as well as those inspired by his vision, share personal anecdotes. The Main Street Opera House will also showcase an exhibition, "Evolution of a Dream," featuring artifacts, images, and art that reflect the park’s development through the decades.

More Celebratory Features

In addition to this exciting attraction, Disneyland Resort is introducing a new third verse to the beloved song, "It’s a Small World," available in the finale of the attraction starting July 17, 2025. This verse, composed by Disney Legend Richard Sherman during the song's 60th anniversary celebration, pays tribute to the iconic legacy of the Sherman Brothers and will be featured prominently in the park's festivities.

Visitors can also experience the short film "So Much That We Share: A Tribute to the Sherman Brothers" at the Main Street Cinema, celebrating the impactful legacy of the Sherman Brothers and their timeless contributions to Disney’s musical heritage.

To make the 70th Anniversary Celebration accessible for all guests and families, Disneyland Resort is providing a range of limited-time ticket and hotel offers. Notable among these is the "Disneyland Anniversary Ticket Offer," effective now for visits through August 14, 2025.
