Birkenstock Launches Its Largest Store in Berlin's Creative Hub

Birkenstock's New Cultural Haven in Berlin

On September 16, 2026, Birkenstock officially opened its spacious new store in Berlin-Mitte, marking a significant milestone in its expansion across Europe. The 125 square meter location combines over 250 years of shoemaking expertise with the vibrant and historical atmosphere of Berlin, presenting a unique shopping experience that resonates with both locals and visitors.

A Tribute to Craftsmanship

The new store, situated on Münzstraße, embraces the theme of craftsmanship, and this is evident in the design and layout of the space. Elements of Berlin’s architectural heritage are carefully considered in the store’s aesthetic—warm exposed concrete complements the city’s urban character while also reflecting Birkenstock’s rich heritage in footwear. The innovative design features include moss-covered elements reinterpreting the classic planters from the DDR era, along with the extensive use of sustainable materials such as cork and jute, which are integral to Birkenstock's renowned footbed.
