With a Master of Business Administration degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College in India, Bhalla's academic credentials complement her extensive professional experience. Moreover, she holds a position on the board of the Alameda County Community Food Bank, reflecting her commitment to community welfare.
Blue Shield of California, founded in 1939 and headquartered in Oakland, operates as a non-profit entity dedicated to sustainability and community health. The organization has contributed more than $60 million to the Blue Shield of California Foundation over the last three years, funding various community initiatives effectively.
As Bhalla prepares to take on her new responsibilities, she has expressed her commitment to working collaboratively with the talented team at Blue Shield to enhance service delivery for their members. “I’m honored to join a mission-driven non-profit health plan at such a pivotal time in healthcare. I look forward to working with Blue Shield’s dedicated team to serve our members better,” Bhalla said.
