ATOMica Begins Community Management at KDDI's New Co-Creation Hub TSUNAGU BASE

ATOMica Takes on Community Management Role at TSUNAGU BASE

KDDI Corporation’s new headquarters, located in the Takanawa Gateway area, has officially opened the doors to its co-creation hub, TSUNAGU BASE. As part of this exciting venture, ATOMica, a startup specializing in social co-working, has announced that it will commence community management operations from August 18, 2025, within the Lounge area of this innovative space.

What is TSUNAGU BASE?

The term ‘co-creation hub’ refers to an environment where individuals from various fields and backgrounds gather to share their ideas and knowledge, thus generating new value together. Central to KDDI's transformation into a Connectable City, TSUNAGU BASE aims to serve as a space for employees, visitors, and partners to collaborate on societal issues and innovation.

ATOMica's Engagement with KDDI

ATOMica’s involvement at TSUNAGU BASE is rooted in a partnership with KDDI through the KDDI Regional Initiatives Fund. This corporate venture capital fund invites collaboration between businesses to foster new projects and acquire cutting-edge technologies. ATOMica has previously created and managed co-working spaces in partnership with municipalities and businesses across over 50 locations in Japan. The expertise gained through these experiences will be instrumental in cultivating community relationships at TSUNAGU BASE.

Responsibilities of ATOMica

With a focus on maximizing the potential as a hub for internal and external co-creation, ATOMica will undertake the following initiatives:
  • - Creating a Co-Creation Hub: ATOMica will design pathways and events that naturally facilitate exchanges among KDDI employees, partner companies, and local residents, sparking diverse collaborative opportunities.
  • - On-Site Community Manager: A dedicated community manager will engage in daily conversations with users, discovering and documenting emerging needs and ideas for future collaborations.
  • - Data-Driven Matching Design: By leveraging accumulated user feedback, the community manager will connect stakeholders to support the realization of ideas.

Upcoming Activities at TSUNAGU BASE

  • - Opening Event: A co-creation session will involve KDDI employees, partner companies, and community organizations to foster initial collaborations.
  • - Regular Events and Networking: Scheduled activities will enable cross-department and cross-company interactions, helping bridge gaps across various sectors.
  • - Exhibition Projects: Showcasing KDDI's co-creation activities through engaging exhibition content will be part of the ongoing initiatives.
