The anticipation is soaring as Tokyu Recreation Co., Ltd. officially announces the IMAX screenings of two blockbuster films, Sinners and Megapolis, set to premiere on June 20, 2025. These screenings will take place across 10 different 109 Cinemas locations featuring IMAX technology, including the exclusive full-sized experience only available at the 109 Cinemas Osaka Expo City.

A Closer Look at the Films

Sinners? This film was entirely shot with IMAX-certified digital cameras, making it a true Filmed for IMAX experience. Audiences will enjoy an expansive field of view compared to standard screens, providing a depth and sense of realism that only IMAX can offer.

Megapolis, directed by legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, offers a glimpse into a dystopian future where a widening gap between the wealthy and the impoverished poses significant questions about society and morality. The star-studded cast includes Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, and Natalie Emmanuel, promising a riveting performance.

Experience IMAX like Never Before

At the 109 Cinemas Osaka Expo City, moviegoers will witness these films projected onto an enormous screen measuring 18 meters high and 26 meters wide. With the 4K Twin Laser Projection System, both films will be displayed in a rare 1.43:1 full-size aspect ratio during selected scenes, while the remaining theaters will showcase the films at 1.90:1. This exclusivity in aspect ratio elevates the cinematic experience to unprecedented levels.
