Unveiling the ‘Garden of Connections’ at YAWN YARD Kouri Island
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Okinawa's northern Kouri Island, the exclusive resort hotel YAWN YARD is thrilled to announce the launch of its new initiative, the 'Garden of Connections.' This innovative project aims to create a bridge between artists, creators, guests, and the local community, aligning perfectly with YAWN YARD’s vision of a 'stayable garden.'
The Concept of the 'Garden of Connections'
The 'Garden of Connections' is not just a one-off event but a fluid, ongoing project that seeks to intertwine diverse creatives and the community at large. By removing boundaries between different forms of expression, the project encourages artists, artisans, chefs, and professionals with unique philosophies to showcase their talents in the vibrant setting of YAWN YARD. This initiative is designed to facilitate a leisurely intersection for travelers and locals alike, cultivating a garden that grows through shared experiences and connections.
Kicking Off with MIREI's Exhibition
As the inaugural event for the 'Garden of Connections,' YAWN YARD will host a two-day exhibition featuring works from the talented local illustrator MIREI. The exhibition will blend new and existing works, designed to resonate with the experiences and ambiance of YAWN YARD. Visitors can enjoy not only an immersive artistic environment but also the unique opportunity to interact with MIREI during the event, gaining insights into her creative process and the stories behind her art.
Guest attendees will also have the chance to purchase exclusive artworks and experience the shared creative space that defines YAWN YARD. Highlights include unique art pieces, objects inspired by the local culture, and MIREI's special T-shirt designs.
Custom T-Shirt Ordering Experience
In a delightful addition to the event, YAWN YARD will also offer a custom T-shirt ordering service. Attendees can select from various illustrations created by MIREI and choose their preferred T-shirt styles, crafting a one-of-a-kind wearable artwork. The ordered T-shirts will be delivered to the buyers' homes post-event, adding an extra layer of personalized engagement.
A Sanctuary amid Nature
YAWN YARD itself is an exquisite private resort, comprising eight villas that blend seamlessly into the lush landscapes of Kouri Island. Divided into two sections, (sea) and (hill), the resort offers a unique 'garden' experience that encourages guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty by providing semi-outdoor private spaces. The 'Garden of Connections' event is open not only to overnight guests but also to the local community, further dissolving the boundaries between the built environment and nature.
