Tokyo Communication Excellence Awards: Celebrating Effective Communication
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government continuously strives to enhance the communication skills among its departments and promote an effective public information strategy. In an effort to recognize outstanding communication practices, the third edition of the
Communication Excellence Awards will take place, spotlighting exemplary initiatives that echo the city's commitment to transparency and engagement with the public.
Introduction of the 'Audience' Prize
This year, a new category, the
'Audience' Prize, has been instituted, allowing Tokyo's employees to vote on the most impressive projects submitted by various city departments. A total of
103 projects were nominated this year, showcasing the diversity and creativity of the communication strategies employed by the government. After a rigorous selection process,
12 finalists have emerged, and their projects will be recognized during the upcoming ceremony.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on
February 17, 2023, from
2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the
Main Hall, 5th Floor, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building located at
2-8-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku Ward. The event will include time for registration from
2:00 PM to 2:20 PM.

Press will have the opportunity to cover the event in an open capacity. To secure a spot for media coverage, interested parties must submit a request by
noon on February 16. Due to space restrictions, video crews are limited to one per organization, and only one representative for photography and penwork per media outlet will be allowed.
